Stories from the autism community

Share Your Autism Story

Your story matters. We’d love to hear it.

It might be a moment of pride, a hard week, a lesson you learned, or a milestone nobody else noticed. iCare Therapy is inviting people with autism, and the people who love and support them, to share real experiences in their own words. It does not have to be polished or inspirational. It just has to be yours.

Takes about five minutes. Nothing is published without your permission.

Why share

Your story can reach someone who needs it today.

Most of what people hear about autism comes from headlines. Real stories from real families are what change how people understand it.

01

Someone needs to hear it

A parent whose child was diagnosed last week, or a teenager who thinks nobody else feels this way, is looking for a story like yours.

02

It shows what autism really looks like

Real stories show the school mornings, the small wins, and the things that took longer than anyone expected. That changes how people understand autism.

03

You decide how it is told

You choose your name or no name, and whether it is written, recorded, or on video. We edit with you, never without you.

Stories we’d love to hear

There is no right kind of story.

If you are not sure where to start, these are a few places people often begin.

A moment of pride
A challenge you are working through
Something you learned the hard way
A milestone, big or small
An everyday moment people misunderstand
Advice you wish someone had given you
What a good day looks like
The person who showed up for you
Three ways to share

Pick whatever feels comfortable.

You can choose more than one, or let us suggest a format when we reach out.

Written story

Write it yourself, or send us notes and we will shape it with you. If it is a fit, it runs as a feature on the iCare Therapy blog, with your name or without it.

Podcast or audio interview

A relaxed conversation with a member of our team, recorded remotely in 20 to 30 minutes. You see the questions first and can skip any of them.

Short video or reel

A phone video is all it takes. Thirty to ninety seconds, vertical, no editing. We handle captions and trimming and send it to you before anything goes out.

Not sure? Choose Help me decide on the form and we will suggest a format that fits.

How it works

Three steps, and you are in control of every one of them.

Tell us a little

Fill out the short form below. A few sentences are plenty. Rough notes are fine.

We reach out

A member of the iCare Therapy team reads every submission and reaches out by email to talk through next steps and the format you chose.

We tell it together

You review everything before it is published. You can change how you are identified, or step back, at any point.

Your privacy comes first

You share what you want, the way you want.

We know these stories are personal. Here is how we handle them.

We’re here to help

If you have questions about care for yourself or a family member, we’re available for a consultation.

Questions about sharing a story?

Four short steps. Only the fields marked (Required) are needed to send it.

Common questions

Things people ask before they share.

No. This is open to anyone connected to autism: people with autism, parents, siblings, grandparents, teachers, providers, friends, and co-workers. Sharing a story is separate from any care relationship with iCare Therapy.

No. Rough notes, a voice memo, or a few sentences are enough to start. If it feels like a fit, a member of our team helps you shape it, and you approve every version.

Yes. You can use your full name, your first name only, or a different name. Tell us on the form, and you can change your mind later.

We only feature stories involving a minor with a parent or legal guardian’s written permission. The form asks a couple of questions about this so we can handle it properly from the start.

Only with you. We may tidy spelling, shorten for length, or trim a video, and you see the final version before it is published.

Yes, at any point. Reply to the email you receive from our team and we will stop. If something has already been published, we will take it down on request.

Ready when you are

Start with a few sentences. We will take it from there.

Your story could be the one another family needs to read this week.
