iCare Therapy delivers in-home ABA Therapy across Mint Hill, Bain, Wilgrove and the Lawyers Road corridor. A Registered Behavior Technician comes to your home, at a time you choose, in the rooms where your child already lives and learns, supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who wrote the plan around your child. We serve 28227
Mint Hill reads as a town rather than a Charlotte neighborhood, and residents mean it. It has no ABA Therapy provider of its own, and the nearest is a center only clinic in Indian Trail. iCare Therapy serves Mint Hill in the family home, and this page is written for the families in Bain, Wilgrove and along Lawyers Road who have been asked to drive somewhere else for care.
Tell us about your family
Why the location of therapy matters
Skills learned in a clinic have to be transferred home afterwards, and that transfer is where a great deal of hard won progress leaks away. A child who has learned to ask for a break at a table across town has not yet learned to ask for a break at the kitchen table when a sibling is being loud and dinner is late. Skills learned at home are already home. The kitchen table, the bedtime routine, the walk out the front door: those are the places where a plan either works or it does not, and they are the places iCare Therapy works.
There is also the practical fact of the drive. For a family already managing appointments, work, school and everything else, an extra commute to a clinic two or three times a week is often the difference between therapy that continues and therapy that quietly stops. When the therapist comes to you, the session happens at a time you choose, in a place your child already knows, and nobody has to be strapped into a car seat first.
Serving Mint Hill
Mint Hill has kept a small town identity at the eastern edge of Mecklenburg County, and its families tend to have deep roots here. What it has not had is an ABA Therapy provider. Families in Bain and Wilgrove and out along Lawyers Road have been driving toward Matthews or Indian Trail for clinic based care, and many of the ninety five projected children in Medicaid qualifying households here have simply gone without.
iCare Therapy serves Mint Hill in the family home. The therapist comes to you, at a time you choose, and the plan is built around your household. The Medicaid plan for behavioral health here is Alliance Health, and the authorization route is one iCare Therapy works constantly.
Families here know downtown Mint Hill, Lawyers Road and the neighborhoods around Bain and Wilgrove. These are reference points a resident would recognize, nothing more. iCare Therapy never names, endorses or ranks a school, a district or a program, and never tells a family which to choose.

Insurance and cost
Most families here on Medicaid with behavioral health needs are managed by Alliance Health, and iCare Therapy works that route constantly.
iCare Therapy accepts North Carolina Medicaid and most major insurers. We verify your benefits before you commit to anything, and we handle the prior authorization request ourselves rather than sending you to do it. Families in Mecklenburg County on Medicaid with behavioral health needs are usually managed by Alliance Health, and families in Iredell and Gaston counties by Vaya Partners; iCare Therapy works both, and a care coordinator can tell you which applies to your address in one call. The insurance and payment hub explains each plan in detail.
What the first two weeks look like
The first step is an assessment with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, who meets your child, talks with you at length about what you see at home and what you want to change, and writes a plan built around your child and your household rather than around a curriculum. Then sessions begin, delivered by a Registered Behavior Technician who comes to your home and supervised by the BCBA who wrote the plan. Caregiver training is built into the plan from the start, because the goal is skills that hold when the therapist has gone home.
Data is collected every session and you can see it. Progress in ABA Therapy is measured rather than felt, and a family should always be able to ask how a goal is going and get a straight answer with numbers behind it. Small wins compound: one new word, one calmer transition, one bedtime that did not become a battle. Nobody at iCare Therapy will promise you a timeline, because nobody honest can, but everybody will show you the data.
What a session in your home looks like
People picture flashcards at a table. A real in-home session looks like play, because for a young child play is the work. The Registered Behavior Technician arrives at the agreed time, and the first few minutes are about pairing, which means becoming the fun person before becoming the teaching person. Then the teaching happens inside the routines your child already has: a game on the floor, a snack at the table, a transition from one room to another. Each moment is an opportunity to practice a skill from the plan, and each practice is recorded.
The session ends with a handoff to you: what was worked on, what went well, what to try before the next visit. Over the weeks, you will be shown how to run the same strategies yourself, because a plan that only works when the therapist is in the room is not a plan. That is what caregiver training means in practice, and it is why in-home care tends to hold when clinic care sometimes does not.
How we staff Mint Hill
Mint Hill sits at the eastern edge of iCare Therapy’s core service area and is served comfortably. Sessions at a time you choose, the same Registered Behavior Technician each visit, and travel time discussed plainly on the first call.
How to choose a provider, wherever you live
Whichever provider a family chooses, in this neighborhood or anywhere else, four questions separate a strong one from a weak one, and a family should ask all four. Who writes the plan and how often do they see my child. What data is collected and can I see it. What happens when a session goes badly. And how does the team communicate with me between sessions. A provider who answers all four plainly is one worth talking to. iCare Therapy will answer them on the first call, and if we are not the right fit for your family we will say so.
